The Queens Head, Downe

Took the family here for sunday dinner. Lovely country pub with three log fires all roaring away. 4 cask ales including finchcocks, a local westerham brew. We tried the beef and lamb Sunday roasts which were both fabulous, best Yorkshire puddings we've had for ages. Daughters had a homemade steak and ale pie and a sea bass from the specials board which they were equally as complimentary about. Recommended.
(Lovely Christmas decorations also, we'll done, we will be back)

The Rose and Crown, Orpington

Stopped of whilst walking the dog and pleasantly surprised, given recent comments, a good pint of bombardier and a quite pleasant white Rioja. Service not wonderful, a bit gruff and slow, but adequate. Watched end of rugby, England won, which made the visit even better.

The Blacksmiths Arms, Cudham

Lovely country pub with small dining area and log fires. Had the chicken suet pudding roll , which came with gravy, mash and veg, went perfectly with my pint of adnams, wife had the homemade fish pie. Very nice atmosphere, food and drink great (a little pricey, but great quality). Recommend.
