The Bohemian, Deal

Visited this pub as part of good night out in Deal. This place is lively and friendly with a good mix of people. Can't complain about the beer either with a cracking mix of real ales at the bar as well as an intimidating selection of delicious Belgium bottled beers. Good place for a late drink.

The Ship, Croydon

I must admit, I'm biased about this place. Being a bit of an old indie kid/rocker I loved the music here. Good beer and friendly staff. Maybe not the most glamorous place in the world but I could have a very good night here. A cosy rock haven.

The Green Dragon, Croydon

Had an unexpected spare hour in croydon. Not expecting much I much I have to admit. This is a lively town pub and I was pleasantly surprised. Good selection of ales. Mixed clientele.

The Red Lion, Swanage

I like this pub. I visited it during the blues festival. Cracking atmosphere with friendly staff and locals. The beer was tasty, shame the choice wasn't as varied as the cider choice. Difficult to rate it as the festival was on. I would say this is the best pub in Swanage though.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Brixton

This has been a post football haven for about ten years now. After initially wondering why we were going here I've come to respect this pub. I has had it's ups and downs but at heart its always been a relaxing place to drink good beer, watch the footy and listen to good music later in the evening. Recently the downs have been followed by further down culminating in the final insult this evening. The six beers advertised on the chalk board were all off. the only other non lager alternative was £540 a pint. The football was impossible to watch through the hoards of Knitting ladies. I think Knitting is a fine a worthy hobbie. But should a pub be taken over by it? No beer, and Knitting. We are going elsewhere from now on.

The Rake, London Bridge

Popped in for a couple of pints here last week. Love this place, I always get an interesting beer here. You accept it's going to be a bit expensive, but i don't usually spend a whole night here anyway. I love the atmosphere here. I disagree with the previous reviewer who said it's full of ale geeks. I think there's a good mix of people who fancy a different drinking experience in central London. Always had a jolly time at The Rake. ( that may be because the beers so strong)

The Wyndham Arms, Ilton

Popped into this place for a bit of lunch. It appeared a bit tatty from the outside and this proved to be the case inside. The Mrs wasn't sure if we should stay. We did stay and I'm very pleased we did. Really friendly staff, cracking beer and the sandwiches and chips made for a hearty lunch. This is a no thrills local farmers pub and there is nothing wrong with that. Don't go if you want a harvester, if you like a no nonsense jolly little boozer I'd erg you to pop in.

The Bridge Inn, Dulverton

Popped into this pub with about 15 friends and family last Saturday lunchtime. What a haven from the cold hail and rain outside. It was warm and welcoming with two roaring fires. The friendly staff were unfazed by wet adults, children and dogs. We took over half the pub and drank excellent beer. Cracking cosy littel pub with good selection of real ales.

The Garland, Redhill

Like this place for a quick pint on the way home. The staff are friendly and the pub has a nice busy atmosphere. The beer that I've had has been well looked after, really good quality pint of Best last time i was in there. The pub interior id a bit dated but to be honest the majority of locals are a bit older so that's fine. Definitely worth a visit for a cheeky pint.

The Surrey Oaks, Newdigate

Checked this pub out a few times now since i moved to the area. I love the fact that this pub retains it's character, so many local pubs have committed to the food trade and have been completely refurbed. These now appear to be ye olde theme pubs. This is the real deal with lovely well looked after local ales. The food is great quality pub grub.

The White Lion, Redhill

This is a excellent example of local boozer. I moved to the area in the last year and having a decent local was a deal breaker for me. This pub is spot on. Five Ales on usually. When we first moved here they were hit and miss but i've noticed that recently that the beer is more consistently tasty. Friendly staff and locals make this a nice place to pop in for a pint or have a proper session. I've eaten in their Thai Restaurant and i can recommend that as well. One criticism is the music policy. Sometimes there's an awful commercial radio station playing rubbish music. The last time i was in they had a Rave album on. I'm actually a fan of music in pubs but this was making me want to leave. This sounds like a real moan but this is a great pub.

The Blue Peter, Polperro

I've been coming to the Blue Peter since i can remember. Coke and crisps have now been replaced by there lovely Cornish Ale. Difficult to rate this pub as my judgement will have been clouded by so many amazing musical, funny and sometimes odd nights. After a recent visit i can confirm that the Peter hasn't lost any of it's charm. The Four Cornish ales, good variety and very tasty. The pub hasn't changed one bit. Still cosy, as nice on a stormy cold night as it is on a calm summer evening. When i was in, it wasn't rammed as it often is, so it was nice to sit in comfort in my favorite window seat. The staff were friendly as were the locals and visitors. There's something about this place which makes people want to chat and make new friends. Still my favorite pub. Not the Blue Peter, The Blue Print.
