Dreadful pub. Glad it's shut. Badly run. Rude landlord. Soon to be demolished. No great loss!

The Crown Inn, Penzance

I return to this pub year after year whenever I visit Penzance. It is a gem. A proper pub with no juke box, gaming machines or other distractions. Great staff. A selection of four well kept ales and a welcoming bar and snug. Locals as pleased to see you as the staff. Can't wait for my next visit.

The Red Lion, Liskeard

Delightfully basic town centre pub with little to recommend it on the face of it. However, upon reflection, pubs like this don't exist any more. A few locals and bar staff who were fascinated and amazed when two southerners walked in! Choice of two local ales, both well kept, make this a sureal occasion. Not for the faint hearted or those of a la-de-da disposition but I'm glad we made the effort and I urge others to do the same. Boozers like this MUST survive.
