The Robins Nest, Lisburn

Since the place has been taken over and changed to Le Cardan it is 100% better. Gone are the smoke covered walls along with the local hoods. The place has been completely revamped with huge new windows allowing much needed light in. The upstairs disco Distill is worth a look.

The Point Lisburn, Lisburn

Used to be the Pipers Quay and I have spent many a good afternoon watching rugby there. Now it's more of a would be trendy nightspot/bar type, which leads to a rather sterile environment. Going out in the evenings you find the usual work gangs and married/divorcee groups looking for some fun. Find the doorstaff rather enthusiastic about their work. Oh and don't be suprised by the arrival of the police at the end of the evening.

Hagues Bar and Lounge, Lisburn

One of Lisburns best pubs. I have been going in there for years. I went in there about a month ago after being abroad for a year and it was like I'd never left. The owners and staff are all very friendly. It was the first pub I went in when I moved to Lisburn and, like the previous reviewer, was never made to feel out of place (for someone with short hair and an English accent that's saying something). Sunday lunch very good and worth every penny. Best jukebox in Lisburn, and even the door staff are decent, another novelty in Lisburn.

The Down Royal, Lisburn

Ah fight central, last time I went by there I saw about 40 people in a fight on a Saturday night. Saying that Sunday night karaoke is a good night out as the place tends to stay open later, legally, which is good as Northern Ireland do not have the 24hr opening laws.
