The Station House, Tonbridge

Pretty strange place. Barmaid had no idea what she was serving and that Guinness and lager are different things. She was nice, but pretty short on brain which was a shame. For some reason, when we were in there, the bar staff let some 8'ish year old kid skate around the place on Heelies. None of us could understand it, I kid you not. Some of the other customers weird dead weird and creepy. The loos were a disgrace. All in all, this place is now well f***ed up compared to what it was like a few years back.

The Ship Inn, Sandgate

Fine beer in here and very good food. Tacky is not the word for this place. If you run out of ciggies, you can just lick the walls for a near fatal nicotine hit. Possibly the nastiest gents loos in Sandgate. All that said, this place is excellent, with very good staff and booze and chilling out in one of the bars, or outside, is totally recommended. Sometimes get some right dirty bits of minge from SAGA in there to cheer up the wasted old boys. Check your spine is in good order - the seats will cripple you.

The Victoria, Bayswater

Great beer, superb London Pride. No music, but the punters pack in and it can get noisy. Not cosy, but great atmosphere. Good staff. This place is a real oasis and a traditional London pub where the gentry can sup beer alongside scumbags and lost tourists. Good for a couple of pints and the food was half decent too. If you like a bit of people watching, this is a fine place to snoop over a bevvy.

The Monkey Puzzle, Paddington

If you like big TV then this is a pub for you. It's as cosy as a B&Q superstore, yet serves very good Badger and Tanglefoot. The house wines are OK too. Don't be put off though, good BBQ's and it attracts a decent crowd. Staff OK, if a bit scary.

The Fettler and Firkin, Paddington

Pretty sparse place but it serves good beer. Don't ask for port, they didn't know what I was on about. A clean place, pretty airy. Lighting is awful and the place can fill with washed up pissheads. Nevertheless a good atmosphere and you could do a lot worse than drink here.

The Royal Exchange, Paddington

Great beer, very nice drop of Brakspears here. Handpumped ales well served and stored. Quiet pub, music at sensible level. Excellent food - try the hot beef sarnie, utterly droolworthy. Comfortable pub, nice locals and very friendly staff. A great place to sit and watch the world go by over a pint.

The Clarendon Inn, Sandgate

A great pub. Good quality beer, fine food and snacks. Not big but quite cosy. A wonderful place to get Harry hammered on a Saturday and then throw up on the beach on the way home. Absolutley worth a visit and the staff are great.

Brecknock Arms, Bells Yew Green

Great place. Terrific food (4-star) excellent booze and nice staff. A few minutes from the railway station. Worth a visit. Spent a great afternoon there recently listening to a load of old codgers complaining about mobile phones and text messages - pure entertainment.

The Foresters Arms, Tonbridge

Scary place. Full of blokes you don't want to f**k with. Staff and booze pretty good - not bad if you want to go out for a six hour bender and get totally smashed.

The Humphrey Bean, Tonbridge

Vast and unfriendly place. cheap booze, lousy food. Functional but nothing else. Has all the charm of Sainsburys but the staff are a miserable bunch - and the service is so slow it's unbelievable.
