I am not saying that the pub isn't in need of a lick of paint and some work doing, but I am sure if people looked in to the facts of this matter that they would know there are ongoing issues with this pub, afterall what can you do with a listed building?
Also as I don't go out much due to work commitments I have yet to leave reviews for the few other pubs I have visited. However, rest assured that these reviews are forthcoming.

I find it remarkable that some of you must really have an axe to grind about this pub. Surely if you spent as much time moaning about it as you do supporting every other pub in the local area you could find time to visit and see for yourselves.
Clearly you are as biased against it as I am (apparently) towards it!!

As someone who is local to Dorking I felt I should try this pub seeing as it causes so much controversy.
I found the landlord to be most amiable and helpful in choosing a good ale and some lunch. The regulars were chatty and the atmosphere was good. The car park was not brilliant but had obviously been tidied recently and looked reasonable.
It was very warm and welcoming. All in all a good visit and I enjoyed my food and beer. Will be returning with the rest of the family soon. Good country pub!!

The Surrey Yeoman, Dorking
tried this place on saturday evening with a couple of friends. whilst it was cold outside it was stiflingly hot inside, i appreciate it keeps people warm and encourages them to drink more but i felt that it was too over the top. on the other hand however, i did have a reasonable pint before venturing elsewhere.
not a bad experience but the stairs are very steep and more than once i saw people nearly topple down them!! banister needs putting back i think.
