The Stratton Arms, Brackley

Found this pub by accident on the last day of a week in Brackley. What a fantastic gem of a place. I wish I had found it earlier. I could only have 2 pints of superbly kept Spitfire as I was driving but I will certainly call in again the next time I am in the area. Everybody very friendly and welcoming and they let dogs in the bar which is a bonus.

The Greyhound Inn, Brackley

Just spent a week in Brackley and used The Greyhound on three occasions dining on each. The food was typical pub food but plenty of it and well presented. The beer too was in good condition and at a reasonable price the staff very friendly. The pub is also dog friendly which is an extra bonus. Well worth a visit.

The Crown Hotel, Brackley

Just spent a week in Brackley and I think The Crown is a fabulous place.
Very comfortable and clean. The beer I had on both visits was Hook Norton Hooky which was in excellent condition and only 3.00 a pint. We dined on both occasions, firstly at the Thursday carvery which was excellent value at only 4.75 and secondly in the restaurant where we had a superb fillet steak. This place is well worth a visit.

The White Hart, New Haw

A RANT.
I have just paid 2.10 for a PINT of london pride. They have no cars. No airport. In fact the only motorised transport is the tractor. Even the ambulance is pulled by a bloody horse. The beer has to be driven by lorry from Chiswick to southampton where it is shipped from England to Guernsey. Its then unloaded and taken to a small vessel which ship it to Sark. Here the barrels are carried from the tiny port by horse and cart to the pub.
In the White Hart it is driven 15 miles down the M4 and dumped at the pub. So how the f&k can the prices be so different???

The Fox and Hounds, Great Wolford

Just had a two night break at this wonderful establishment. Lovely room, superb food (homemade bread to die for) and friendly staff. Hook Norton Hooky in excellent condition and two other beers on hand pumps. Thoroughly recommended. An added bonus is dogs allowed all areas.

The Black Prince, New Haw

A recent refit has made this Pub well wirth a visit. It is clean and comfortable and the food and drinks are very good value. Lets keep kids out of it but allow dogs in.

The White Hart, New Haw

Gone even further downhill since my last visit. The young girls serving aren't particularly friendly and the Courage Best now at 2.40 a pint doesn't make you want to return in a hurry.

The Plough Inn, Horsell

Visited this Pub several times recently. What a smashing place, I wish I lived much closer. Dogs welcome in the Bar but not in the garden, which suits me well.

The Spotted Cow, Lower Bourne

Saw an advert. for this Pub in an oldish Camra magazing which said it was a 'traditional' pub. Quite nice though it was when I made a recent visit I would hardly call it a traditional pub, more like a mid range restaurant which sells beer. Food quite expensive. Wife and I, and the dog, were made welcome so our 40 miles journey was not entirely wasted.

The Plough, Byfleet

Visited last weekend after a long absence. Thames Valley Morris Men were dancing in the car park. What a pity there weren't more spectators. Still a great pub bu still on the expensive side but a great range of real ales.

The White Hart, New Haw

I agree with everything said by retiree. I used to be a regular visitor to this Pub but the stupidly high prices have put me off and,I would think, a lot of others. Shame that Geoff has left, he was brilliant.
