The Thistle and Shamrock, Folkestone

Tiny pub, huge atmosphere! Ultra friendly landlord & landlady, and bar staff.

Can get very busy on big footie occasions.

Although small, there's still a pool table, and plenty of seating.

Well worth a visit.

The Princess of Wales, Charing Cross

Visited here for the first time last week. What a lovely little pub! Great service from the barmaids and the food was far beyond what we expected for a pub. And it was very reasonably priced too, considering this is in Central London. We will definitely visit again.

Congratulations all round

The Smugglers Inn, Cleethorpes

Fantastic food, great service. Multi screens for sports coverage, but they aren't intrusive - also a non smoking zone.

Give it a whirl, a great pub

No 1 Refreshment Rooms, Cleethorpes

What a great place! Where else could you go after a gap of 8 months, and be greeted with "Oh, hi there, pint of extra cold Guinness and a Carling is it?" We were stunned. Small, unpretentious, but well worth a visit. We'll be visiting again in August (we live 300 miles away!).

Try it.

The Star, Ashford

Can't rate this pub as I haven't been there for about 40 years! My parents were the landlords in the late '60s, when it was converted from the local doss house into a "real" pub. Would love to hear how it's getting on these days. In my day there was a pig farm at the bottom of the tiny car park and the flour mill was still a going concern! And I remember catching minnows and sticklebacks in the stream at the bottom of the car park.

I hope to make a nostalgic pilgimage later this summer!

New Inn, New Romney

Would love to hear coments from anyone who knows this pub. My parents were the landlords in the late 60s/early 70s and I have only been back once.

I aim to get there on a nostalgic trip sometime this summer.

The Guildhall, Folkestone

Good friendly service. Good beers and reasonable food (but I'm convinced the macaroni cheese is doctored Heinz!). Landlord can get a bit "hazy" as the day goes on...

Great pub dog!

Worth a visit if you're in town.

The British Lion, Folkestone

Our favourite. The best food in town, always perfectly cooked and huge portions!

Great service from Landlords Nick & Dee, and Bar staff Denis, Sue and Becky. Not forgetting the trojan work upstairs in the kitchen.

Wonderful atmosphere and friendly locals will make any visiotrs feel welcome.

They don;t get much better than this!

The Dinkum, Polegate

Fantastic "local" - it's 60 miles from where we live! Great food at lunchtimes and the firndliest staff ever. We are made to feel like old friends whenever we go, even if we haven't been for several months.

Going tomorrow (25 January), can't wait.
