Clarendon Arms, Cambridge

I just heard yesterday from the bar staff that the pub will be closing in early march! What terrible news. Apparntly Greedy King have struck again; i didn't press the issue but it was something to do with a new deal and a loss of cash?

This pub has suffered loads over the last frew years but I thought the team there had sorted it out. Hopefully one of them can let us know what happened or is happening.

So you have got three weeks, and i recommend you MUST come and at least try their mild, and their incredible chips, before they are gone for good.

The New Inn, St Neots

Recently re-opened as The Coach House, thereby sealing it's own fate

The Rupert Brooke, Grantchester

Rupert Brooke's best member of staff (Billy was it? manager with long dark hair and a slight accent) has moved up the road to the Green Man. This could be the last nail in the coffin of this truly ridiculous pub???

The Red Lion, Grantchester

Food here is vile! I had a peek in the kitchen and counted rows of microwaves, MerryChefs and deep friers.

If you don't like food or beer this may be the pub for you. Really lets Grantchester down considering the other three pubs nearby (the excellent Green Man and Blue Ball, and the Rupert Brooke in the village)

The Green Man of Grantchester, Grantchester

Love the Green Man! I think a lot of people steer clear in the winter as the garden gets pretty chilly, and the pub is quite small, but it would be a shame to alter the character of this ancient building by adding some horrible new extension.

Really nice and warm when we visited with two log fires on the go, and the bar staff are enthusiastic and very funny.

Pig N Falcon, St Neots

Now the Pig'n'Falcon have spent the last few years perfecting their ale, maybe they can sort out some of the things they've overlooked. The toilets, for a start, are woeful, and the garden heaters often don't work. When you ask, you're told "I have to plug them in, I'll do it in an hour or so". Not on considering it's impossible to stay inside the oub due to the excessive volume of the live music!

Apart from that this pub is a winner and not to be missed, especially by real ale fans, and smokers will enjoy the large beer "garden".

Barbeque on Fri/Sat nights, 2.50 per burger not to be sniffed at

The Admiral Vernon, Over

AFAIK the pub is currently being run by a manager whilst Charles Wells seek new licensees.

The Exhibition, Over

Went here today whilst passing through Over. Quiet at half past twelve but seemed to be filling up.
Didn't eat but food looked good. Overheard the (friendly) staff discussing the review one of them had posted here......
