Lavery's is a Belfast legend. Are you a spide or millie? There's a shit club for you. Are you a dark grunging or goth type? The back bar, though not what it was, accommodates you. Do you fancy some pool or a rooftop garden pint, with classic rock and metal to nod along/headbang to? Head to the top floor. Or do you just want a quiet Guinness in a genial atmosphere? Just walk through the front door to the main bar.

Auntie Annies, Belfast

Best bar in Belfast after Katy Daly's. It's one of the fab venues that still welcomes us alternatives types, as sadly Belfast has become overrun by trendy sh*tholes pretending to be cosmopolitan and meccas for the beautiful people.

The Volunteer, Baker Street

Spent a delightful few hours and much money here on Saturday 21 August with a big group of fellow mad people. Comfortable with a good atmosphere, and tolerance of our..."enthusiasm" ;) AND it has Sierra Nevada on tap. Any pub that has that has a faithful friend in me.

I really liked it.
