The Beachcomber, Seaford

This seafront pub is waiting for a developer to get planning permission to replicate the ugly block of flats over the road - and it shows. Only the back bar opens and the rooms facing the sea have been locked up for years, waste of a great location, pray Tim Martin takes a fancy to it.

The Old Plough, Seaford

Landlord is a homunculus but can keep a good pint at a reasonable price - only contact you can expect is when he snatches the menus in at 8.30 - perhaps its just as well he only consorts with his cronies. Barmaids are friendly and efficient and the pub-chain food is good value. Pick of the pubs in Seaford.

The Windsor Castle, Clapham Junction

Been using this pub on and off since 1975 and it has always smelled of armpits. Okay for watching sport and decent Vietnamese cafe opposite.

The Falcon, Clapham Junction

First rate selection of real ales usually 10 or more on, not cheapest but well kept. Understaffed but the ale is worth the wait.
