The Jolly Gardener, Holyport

Was certainly the best local for me until Sandy passed away he was a legend and many of my friends worked there so many nights of loud music (seeing as it was in the middle of nowhere), pool and the guitar. Not sure was it is like after the reopening but i've met the manager and he seems to know what he is doing. 6/10 for the old days

The Watermans Arms, Eton

Brilliant when your cousin's front door is less than 10 steps away from the place. Would recommend to anybody to go out of their way to visit and just stick to the high street in Eton.

The Henry VI, Eton

Very friendly atmosphere didn't feel unwelcomed but is one of my cousin's locals was welcomed by a number of people old and young. Drinks were ok happened to be a live band on stage which was quite good, does lack in space I feel but couldn't complain. Nothing outstanding about the place but no complaints I wouldn't say no to going again so give it a try 5/10

Vanilla Bar, Windsor

I agree with most comments it is pretensious and full of idiots. Wednesday is an ok night for music if you like r ''n' b but everyone else has been driven away. I don't like the crownd to be honest again just full of zombies of fashion with no real originality about it. Oh the best part is the last group of women left in the place get mauled here there and everywhere, but not even talked to just blokes standing and staring at them if your gunna do it don't give it all the mouth and not follow it up, bad place for me i'm afraid.

The Bar Cafe, Windsor

Never was a bad place. Seemed a better place to start from than the weatherspoons just around the corner and you could count on getting to the bar within 2 minutes. nice set up with cool leather sofas and small dining area never ate there though. Was always a few idiots around but overhauled by the abundance of good looking ladies on most days, not the fat ones though!!!

The King and Castle, Windsor

Terrible door staff that refuse entry on Friday and Saturday nights for not wearing shoes although its a pub??? I think the doorman has let things get to his head and feels the place is a high end nightclub when to be honest if i donned a pink liatard, put on a few pounds and flashed my arsed in the joy that i was getting married to some poor bloke who is if from the local area probably with another women then I would get straight in. Not a nice place at all. Shame because it is a very big place and large heated patios at the rear. Oh final note don't even touch the food. I would say they were not chefs merely microwave technicions.

The Harte and Garter, Windsor

Great refurb since earlier in the year something like 4 miliion was spent on it. However it is certainly not a place you would visit for a drink with the lads. It is mostly there for its house guests although does offer tables for lunch and dinner and the menu is quite extensive. Looks fantastic and all the rooms are very nice however not one for a bar crawl.

All Bar One, Windsor

Nice on say a Wednesday evening when it's a little quieter a few people after work and the odd couple. Much better than a rammed Friday night where if you are not dressed to high standards you get funny looks from the pretty boys who are slaves to fashion and churned out of a machine, much the same in all of Windsor then. I do like though just to have a quiet drink with a friend or not to bad to take a date to be honest. Choice isn't too bad but not too cheap. I like that they have Fruli there though!!

De Hems, Soho

The best Dutch bar in the British Isles. Often slighty unprofessional staff but clearly laid back and superbly friendly. Often remembering who you are at times. I try to pop in everytime I am in London which is once or twice a month. Very nice during a stressful day shopping with the ladies and can be a good haven from piccadilly which is around a 5 minute walk and just off Shafesbury avenue. A few of my friends are Dutch and this is how i stumbled over such a great place. It can be very cramped on a busy weekend evening as space is quite limited. But nether the less we don't mind standing out on Macclesfield Road watching the world go by and all the nutters who havn't found quite what they were looking for in life. Just a message in reply to ricorazzo's complaint about the drinks being measured short, this is how beer is served over there a big head is just what they do so don't be put off and nine times out of ten then will be happy to fill your drink just that half an inch higher for you just to satisfy. This information is clearly stated at the bar also!! I would recommend to anybody who loves to try something new and have a pint of Fruli for me.
