The General Eliott, Uxbridge

The pub changed hands early 2009 and it has been revived, there are people in it and they are enjoying themselves. Ales tend to be London Pride, Ringwood, Spitfire and very drinkable. There is now a large home cooked style menu and it is very popular and people talk about their Sunday roasts. Entertainment has returned with live music on Sat, Karaoke on Thu and Quiz on Tue, Sports on TV, and I'm glad the pool table went. Back to how it should be :)

Pipemakers Arms, Uxbridge

After moving from the pub over the road, we all enjoy this place immensely, beer is kept well and recommended (Pride/Abbott/Adnams bitter), the pool table has gone as there was a change of ownership a while back and new staff are very friendly.
Now they serve a full Chinese menu, cooked in full view, so eat in or have a quick pint while waiting for your take away.
It is still mainly a pub with locals so you don't have to eat but if you fancy a snack then the menu is enormous!

The General Eliott, Uxbridge

I have been a regular in this pub for 20 years, I like it as it is a bit out of the town centre and canal side patio is nice in the summer, it can be very busy or nice and quiet. The locals and boaties are friendly, people and managers come and go.
They tend to have London Pride as the resident ale along with a weaker one like Adnams or Brakspears.
At the moment they have karaoke on Thu and live music on Sat. Home cooked food, Fri night is curry night and you can order one to take home at closing time.
Currently undergoing a bit of a refurb which has cheered the place up, also last year they had a pool table put in and they show all of the big sporting events.

The Hobgoblin, Marylebone

Another pub I frequent for a swifty after work, 3 handpumps with Wychwood and guest ales available, when it is on I always go for the Hobgoblin ale as it is marvellous, the pub is usually busy and does Thai food and sometimes has Jazz downstairs. Its only downfall is that it is not big enough!!

The Dover Castle, Marylebone

Occassionally I go out of my way to visit this pub on the way home, I just feel drawn to it, I liken it to a country pub, lovely atmosphere, charming local characters, a nice pint of Old Brewery Bitter and relax after a hard day at work.
It is quite small and tucked away definitely worth a visit, but beware I think you will find it packed to the rafters at 6pm on a Friday evening.

The Zetland Arms, South Kensington

I quite like this pub, I had been working closeby and there are not many pubs in the area, work colleages said it was good so I went along but was being refurbished (in Mar2005, it said to visit their sister pub The Hoop and Toy nearby).
I have been back a few times since for a swifty after work, and they have made a nice job of the refurb, lots of nice wood panels and furniture, and a nice selection of well kept ales, Bombardier/Pride/Abbott etc, which I think they rotate, so may change, also Widescreen TV round the back and non-smoking upstairs. Quite busy when I have been in, I would recommend it.
