Ye Olde Marquis, Colchester

It's alright. That's the height of it.

The Hospital Arms, Colchester

Can't fault it. good little spot with friendly service (characteristics almost unique to Colchester).

The Hole in the Wall, Colchester

This is a great location for a pub with loads of potential... so why did they decide to make it into such a dive! Bring on new management! It could be a great little spot!

Edwards, Colchester

Sadly, this seems to be the place to go in Colchester. Can't fault the staff. Bouncers and bar are both spot on. The decor is desprately trying to make this place something it's not though and the music is always completely soulless and uninspiring. But the sad fact remains that unless you can handle Chicago's (shudder) or the Hippo this is probably your only late night weekend refuge.

The Bull, Colchester

Cheap and nasty. Avoid.

Twisters Cafe Bar, Colchester

Quasi- sophisticated? This pub is dark, messy dingy and small... and I love it! Seriously good atmosphere and nothing pretentious about about it. Good patrons, fit barmaids, something a bit different, awesome. I agree. Don't tell too many people about it. It's great as it is.

O'Neill's, Colchester

I usually can't stand Irish theme pubs. This one isn't too bad though and the manager is a lovely bloke. I fancy one of the bar girls but was gutted when I saw her in town with some bloke draped in Elizabeth Duke. Most of the staff are friendly but don't inderstand me because of my accent. I'm Irish love!

The Hub, Colchester

This place aint bad but wouldn't go too often as it could get old very quickly. Not the greatest drink selection in the world, but the patron's are all cool and a nice mixed bag. No pretention, just chilled and the music's good on occasion. With Edwards on one side and Yates's on the other it's best to stay away from the door incase some chav walking past looking for his baby's momma takes a dislike to your haircut!

Yates's, Colchester

Wow. Get yourself checked out for STI's if you even walk in here. People looked at me funny when they saw I had no sovreighn rings. Chav central and I'm sure I saw that girl in school uniform earlier? If you have taste or prospects avoid!!!

The Faunus & Firkin, Colchester

No frills attatched proper mans pub. They prefer showing rugby over football so definately a winner. Cheap as chips.

Ha Ha Bar & Canteen, Colchester

Gay as Christmas but not bad for a relaxing one.
Good place to go and chill during the week but not the place to go on weekends. the music turns up and the atmosphere gets cramped. If I want loud music I'll go clubbing.

The Oak Inn, Coventry

Slightly biased as this pub sponsored my rugby team but I love this place! Anywhere that doesn't require bouncers in Coventry city centre has to be a seriously friendly place. Mostly student rugby player cusomers but, student or not it is an essential part of any pub crawl.
