Kitty O'Hanlans, Plymouth

Sticky tables, sickly smelling floor and worst of all the pint of tribute was off. Tribute is not a difficult beer to keep. If they can't get that right then really, what hope is there?

Oirish McThemepub.

The Three Crowns, Plymouth

Took forever to get served. Nice location though.

Trafalgar Hotel, Plymouth

Now re-opened as The Bread and Roses. Lively, idiosyncratic, not cheap.

The Junction, Plymouth

Musicy. Has changed hands several times recently.

Hyde Park, Plymouth

Now it isn't going to be flats and is going to re-open as a pub. Possibly it is even open now. Something of a victory for local people! Good luck to it!

Central Park Towers, Plymouth

Not a pub or bar. It's an accommodation block. Dunno what it's doing on this list.

Woodside, Plymouth

A curate's egg. Has good bands playing. It's heart is in the right place.

Mannamead, Plymouth

All the affability and ambiance of a sink-estate jobcentre.

Boomerangs, Mutley Plain

Sporty. Not my cup of tea. But worth peering in the window if Poland are playing a World Cup match--it's like the North Stand at Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak Stadium! Cheap and has pool tables. (possibly the best pool bar in the area?)

The Fortescue, Mutley Plain

Still a great pub, but lost a little of its soul when it lost its long-running music night down in the basement.

Does have regular music events and a popular quiz. Very nice bar staff and good beer, usually something unusual and interesting. Very nice little beer 'terrace' out the back.

The Nowhere Inn, Plymouth

A dirty, crumbling hole covered in graffiti and filled with hippies, dossers, punks, losers, boozers, dreamers and chancers.

Pretty much perfect, hope it never changes. 10/10.

The Seymour Arms, Plymouth

Nice community pub. Decent beer. Does food but I've never had it so can't comment. Reasonably priced.

Mutley Crown, Plymouth

Useful for ready meals and a bottle of plonk (ie it is now a Sainsburys!)

The Clifton, Greenbank

Still open but clinging on by its fingertips.

The Hill Park, Plymouth

Dead and gone. :-(

The Providence, Plymouth

About as good as it gets! Friendly, characterful, cosy. Ever changing range of well-kept real ales. Ciders and unusual lagers. Ever-so-slightly dilapidated!

Lord High Admiral, Plymouth

Great little pub, real character, some friendly people. A bit of a haven from what can be a grotty area. Well worth seeking out, if you can find it!
