The Spyglass and Kettle, Southbourne

Ate here Sunday (5 of us) chose the Roast Pork Belly which was paltry in size with two slices of pork, no crackling, peas were like bullets and the roast potatoes tasted like they had been deep fried.

No apple sauce available and I asked for French mustard and got english

We chose to have puddings and ordered two sticky toffee and 3 spotted dick which arrived with cold custard.

We sent it back at which the waitress seemed surprised! Very poor, i Know its cheap but I would rather spend a tenner in the Toby and get a decent roast.

Needless to say no tip was left. I have heard the manageress does not take kindly to complaints!

Badly in need of a refurb, bar area is dark and dingy.

The Three Tuns, Bransgore

Visit this pub quite often but have noticed that hardly any female barstaff of late. Call me old fashioned but I prefer to see a barmaid. That said I cannot commend Dan enough for the excellent standard of the ales and lagers. He is worth his weight in gold and is always polite and friendly.

Menu could do with some new ideas and the bar tariff is not far off hotel prices but that is my only criticism.

Owner never seems to be around.

The Three Tuns, Bransgore

Went to the Tuns for a meal last night. We all had three courses and the food was literally to die for. Red Onion tartlette and scallops we excellent. Two of us had the Sea Bass and the other Rack of Lamb which were both cooked to perfection. Had Pavlova and Creme Brulee which were also excellent.

Portion sizes were just right to get through the three courses.

No sight of any management but the staff were friendly, polite and very efficient. They seem to work well without any direction and looked happy to be at work.

The Three Tuns, Bransgore

Visited last night far a drink. Very busy and full restaurant but managed to get a seat in bar. Great atmosphere, staff seemed very relaxed and happy without the Welsh influence.

Pork Roulade was first class.

The Three Tuns, Bransgore

Great food, great staff (esp wed evenings!). Bar staff very friendly, helpful and entertaining, nothing is too much trouble.

The welshman needs to appreciate his staff and stop interrupting them when they are trying to take orders for food. Ringwood Best is first class.
