The Cyder House Inn, Shackleford

Lovely building in a lovely village, but it all goes wrong after that.

Very very long wait for food
Out of the 7 meals ordered they forgot 2, so had to wait even longer
They asked what sauces were required, then bought them after the meal was finished
The crab linguini (Main) was tiny and largely devoid of crab.

Other diners were also getting very frustrated, with the dreadfull service.

To be fair they did take some money off the bill, but really need to do so much better.

2/10

All in all not as good as it used to be, but still worth a visit.

The Hogget, Hook Common

Popped in while waiting for my takeaway on a quiet Sunday evening.
Pint was fine and it seemed inviting and friendly, Nice interior and I hear the food is good as well.

I agree it is a shame the name has changed, however don't let that put you off.

My Revd James was pretty good, but they served off milk with my missus coffee,

The service seemed to lack any real care.

The Clachan, Soho

Was immediately greeted by the friendly barman, who suggested and gave me a taste of an ale as I was overwhelmed by the fantastic choice.

Had standard pub grub which was fine.

A splendid London pub, Highest I have ever marked a Nicholson's pub.

3 May 2011 10:49

The Mariners Inn, Nolton Haven

Great location, sitting outside overlooking the gorgeous Welsh coast.

Had a feeling of a 80s working mans club to me

3 May 2011 10:34

The Swan Inn, Little Haven

A bit of a mix really.

Food was pricey but very nice.
Service was very good overall, apart from the fact it took ages to pay, got fed up waiting and took my money to the bar, to be served by the very pleasant smiley barmaid.

3 pumps, but only Bass available on one day and it wasn't that great, went on another day and enjoyed a couple of fine pints of Revd James.

Fantastic view from the window seat.

Really not sure how to mark this one. perhaps a 7 for all the positive points.

3 May 2011 10:30

The Anchor Inn, Lower Froyle

Went there last night with a group of friends and can't fault the place.

The food was delicious, the staff were helpful & attentive and the triple fff beer pale ale was well kept & just what you need on what seemed like a summers evening.

All in all excellent

21 Apr 2011 08:15

The Foresters, Church Crookham

Has more of a restaurant feel than a pub inside. The garden out the back looked a nice place for a summers day pint or few.

Had 2 beers on, both of which were very drinkable, and the food was tasty, certainly worth another visit, staff that dealt with us were friendly.

All in alI liked it

The Hyde Tavern, Winchester

Went to this fantastic pub last Saturday with a bunch of friends, and have to say what a a fantastic place it is.

They charge 1 a plate to bring food in, which not only is a great idea, but means they are very much focused on being a pub.

The ale was well kept and delicious.
The bar staff were all friendly and pleasant.

First time I have scored a pub 10/10

1 Feb 2011 08:45

The Bolton Arms, Old Basing

I like this pub.

The beer is good and the food is very good. What a great turnaround from the dump it was before.

The landlord is a character and is always friendly to me and my family, as is everyone else working in the pub, I have never seem the landlady scowl and am amazed at that comment.

If you want good food and service in a lovely place then this is for you.

Nice pint of Doom bar.
Nice spot.

But blimey what a miserable unhelpful barmaid.

A complete contrast to the cheerful and helpful staff at the Donkey
