I've always found the service very good in this pub.
Like most Wetherspoons is better during the day as gets incredibly busy in the evenings between Wednesday and Sunday.

A Wetherspoons pub situated in a hamlet slightly of Pompey, mmmmmmmmmm........
Unfortunately this is about as predictable a pub as it gets, plenty of teenage mums, and fights aplenty.

Apparently this place has been sold and is shortly to be reincarnated as a Revolution vodka bar.

Having worked on the door in several Wetherspoons sites, I will stick up for the staff, who in my opinion do a great job for minimal reward. As Wetherspoon's don't play music, the time goes incredibly slowly, and the low-life clientele attracted the the cheap drinks hardly helps. The staff usually earn only around �5.50, and for that need a very long fuse to cope with some of the dubious characters attracted to this pub.

The Avondale House, Southampton
Recently refurbished, this is a comfortable, clean boozer with good pub grub, at very reasonable prices.
Live sport shown, good drinks range, good staff. One of the better pubs in the area, and doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't.

Now reincarnated as Reflex, this is simply Flares but 80's rather than 70's. Attracts a local, older crowd, and is about as unpretentious as you can get. Not surprisingly can get quite punchy towards the end of the evening.

Dreadful Wetherspoons affair full of typical Bognor people. This town is even worse than Pompey, which is really saying something.

The Beehive, Brixton
I popped in here for a quick drink in July 2005 whilst I was looking at house in Brixton. This was a few days after the unfortunate shooting up the road in Stockwell. This pub was quite an experience, and had the atmosphere best described as the pilot light being on, just waiting for the explosion...
