The Kings Arms, Dorking

I agree with walklerino, this pub has really gone down hill. The bar staff dont really seem to want to serve the customers and most of the customers seem to be talking about what they did in school that day!

I will try and avoid the Kings Arms in the future and make my way over to the Pilgrim. It is a shame, as this used to be a real gem of a pub. What is Dorking doing to itself?

The Cricketers, Dorking

I was in there again this last weekend. It is a great pub, really the best in town. Of course the best pint of Pride in Dorking by far and the most professional bar staff.

The Kings Arms, Dorking

I go to this pub as often as I can, but recently it seems to have gone downhill. The other night they even had video football on, then piped loud music and the Barmaid smashed the empty botles into the bottle bin so loud that I was put off my beer. Beer still good though. Too smoky, but roll on July. I hope that the excellent Landlady re-groups soon!

Even though I live on the other side of Dorking, this is still my favoured pub by a long way. The bar staff are the only professional staff in Dorking. You know your going to get served as soon as possible and when you do get served, it is then that you will see why it is the best pub in the area, as the beer is always good. A very good mix of customers.

The Marble Arch, Manchester

I think this may be the best pub I have ever been to. The large windows, the high glazed ceiling, the sloping floor. Or was it the brewed on the premises beer, that were all very good. It may have been the cost of the beers (1.80 to 2.20 per pint). This is a very good pub and I want to go there again. Why doesn't London have these type of pubs?

The Red Lion, Betchworth

Very friendly staff and good selection of beers and the one pint I had was good. Shame though, there was no atmosphere and we were almost the only people in there. I am sure this pub would be much better on a Sunny Sunday afternoon. But not an Easter Sunday evening. I would not go back again. The Dolphin is far too near here, to pass up going there. I think the Dolphin is the best in the area. However, I am trying to seek out other great pubs that are not too far away from Dorking.

The Abinger Arms, Abinger Hammer

This should be a great pub, it dates back to 16th Century and is located in a great spot. However, the interior was poor and it looks like they are in the middle of decorating. A loud barking dog and no real atmosphere. On the plus side the beer was good and the Landlady friendly. We would not go there again though.

The Compasses Inn, Gomshall

A good pub with a great selection of beers. We tried them all and they were all good. However, the atmosphere is not so good, but it was a cold Sunday night. But it seems like a cafe, rather than a cosy country pub. Remember though that the beer is good and a good selection.
