The Lighthouse, Benfleet

Pub now closed & boarded up awaiting demolition.

Pity really.

The Lighthouse, Benfleet

My mother in law lives locally & I have found this to be a decent pub.

Unfortunately, I have today read in a local free newspaper that it is going to be knocked down to make way for some flats.

Shame if this is true.

The Welcome All, Greenhithe

The pub is to be honest a bit rough around the edges cosmetically & the gents is poor. That said, it is a proper community boozer with locals & barstaff who are happy to have a natter & is the sort of pub that should be encouraged to grow & not just criticised.

Room for improvement but with a little effort will, I hope, flourish

The Bull, Horton Kirby

Well kept ales, lagers etc. Friendly locals. Attentive & chatty bar staff. Cracking Sunday roast. Lovely beer garden. Familes welcome.

Only problem is...I live too far away to walk.

Well recommended.

The Welsh Tavern, Stone

I have lived in this area for over 7 years & rarely used this pub. It always struck me as a little cliquey. Maybe that was just me as I have started frequenting it a little more lately & find the locals friendly & Russ The Landlord to be a very accomodating host. The Guinness is very well kept as are all the other lagers, ciders & bitters. Children are most welcome with parental supervision & there is a beer garden out the back & parking for about 10 cars outside with plenty of parking on the road. They have several TV's so sport is well catered for. Sunday night there is usually a bit of a song & dance going on which is all good natured stuff.

Well recommended.
