The Malt Shovells, Altrincham

Its "Charlie in the Corner"'s funeral today. Charlie was seemingly a lifelong patron of this pub and part of the fabric of the place which helps makes this such a great pub. His memory will live on. Cheers Charlie

The Harrington Arms, Gawsworth

This is an excellent little pub with character and charm. Good simple food, well presented. The home made chips are something else. I've heard the monthly "curry nights" are well worth attending, though I understand you have to book.

We will be back.

The Malt Shovells, Altrincham

In these times there are few "regulars" left in many of the pubs in Altrincham. The Malt bucks the trend in that respect, although it has a good mix of people, especially on a Friday evening .

Ive been going in for over twenty years and its still a place where you can relax and enjoy a chat and a pint or two and at 1.65 for a pint of larger, Im not going to complain!

Church Green, Lymm

Had a meal there two weeks ago with some French friends. Its the second time my wife and I have been and I would certainly recommend it. This time as "mains" I has Sea Bream. Fish is not my obvious choice, but this was excellent.

Good food, good wine, service and atmoshere. I think we'll be back!

The Malt Shovells, Altrincham

Still a great pub, with an honest, unpretentious approach with clientele to match. Interesting to see how the smoking ban seems to have effected things very little, though the beer must certainly be the cheapest in Altrincham.

The Vine, Dunham Massey

Never tire of this proper pub. Good food, good ale and a great place to feel you are in the country, yet its only a short drive from Altrincham. Particularly handy for refreshment once you have spent a hard days fishing across the road at Manor Farm.

The Swan at Marbury, Marbury

It was my father in laws birthday, yesterday and despite the precipitative weather, we decided on a drive out and pub lunch. Altrincham is a fair distance from Marbury, but having found the review on your web site, we were not disappointed by the outcome. The food, wine, beer and service were excellent and the impression of what seemed at first, as a cold dining room, was quickly dispelled by a re-coaling of the fire. Pubs of this quality need to be patronised and whilst I am already planning my next visit to what is undoubtedly an excellent village pub, this is more than supported by the views across the Mere from the Church, on what I feel, will next time, be an excellent Summers day
