The Village, Salisbury

The upgrading is very clearly underway with walls being stripped & the cellar bar revitalised. Gents toilet is way better than I have ever seen it. No change in the beer (thank goodness). It is good to see an old favorite getting the care it deserves.

The Duck Inn, Laverstock

Unlike wolvesfan (posting 5 sept 2010) I have no problem with Hop Back beers but agree a guest ale would be a good addition. As it was the beers were in excellent condition. I do agree with wolvesfan the new tenants, Becki and Tim, are enthusiastic and have already made improvements to what had become rather dreary.
We had a good Sunday lunch. It was the first day they had begun serving food and while there were a couple of minor teething problems they did not spoil a pleasant experience. I have no doubt that we will be back on a not infrequent basis.

The Podymore Inn, Podimore

Looking for a place to meet and have Sunday lunch I popped in to this pub Saturday afternoon with some trepidation having read the earlier postings. It was clear however that it was under new management (of only 2 weeks). Made to feel welcome & valued, lunch booking taken efficiently. Came back Sunday & had excellent lunch with plenty of good quality veg. Butcombe & Pedigree on handpump & both in fine condition.
Atmosphere welcoming , dcor good, loos clean. Well worth a call in.
