To add to my last comment - been in there a couple of times since and it has been disapponting. Still think it represents decent value for food and ambience it's ust the money grabbing nature of the business which is annoying. Also the staff seem to veer now between over-bearingly attentive and rude like a bizarre cross between an American and French waiter.

Now under new management again. The new couple are very firnedly and welcoming and appear to be steering this pub back in the right direction. Food has definitely improved and there are more good value pub fare dishes on the menu. The Youngs is still in good nick, which is enough to keep me coming back in fairness. Still got a good smoking area with heaters etc. All in all a very good local and hopefully one that wil be on the up again.

The Woodman, Battersea

Now under new management and has thus received a slight boost in the arm. The staff are friendlier than they were. Food is acceptable but not great and still over-priced. Beer is ok, although not a fan of their bitters etc. myself.

Not the best pub in the world with some pretty aggressive locals. Staff were firendly though. Smoking on the killer pavement outside is dangerous too.

Personally I'm a big fan. Good music, decent food at the same sort of prices you'd pay for worse fare in a pub. Service can be a little noon-attentive, but personally I prefer that to being hassled and asked if I'm alright all the time. The cover charge after 8 is a little annoying though.
