The Railway Hotel, Hornchurch

Definitely one of the more better, more comfortable pubs in Hornchurch, where you can sit down, have a good chat and a quiet-ish drink. Not many decent, cosy pubs left in Hornchurch now - there seem to be too many "posy" wine bars popping up!! I like this pub, even it is a bit of walk from Hornchurch town centre. Does get busy at weekends, so get in there early to get a seat

J J Moons, Hornchurch

One of the better Wetherspoon pubs that I have been in (and I do frequent them quite a lot!). The only complaints that I have (and it is the same with all Wetherspoons - is that the clearing up of tables is slow and shoddy and all Wetherspoon pubs are very slow at serving. Need more staff! . Many times, I have sat down at a table to find empty beer glasses, plates of left-over food etc. This place gets absolutely packed out on a Friday/Saturday night, so if you want a decent table and seat - get in there early!!!

The Fatling and Firkin, Hornchurch

A lovely-looking pub right in the middle of Hornchurch High Street. If you like really loud ear-bashing live bands, a hot packed-out pub where you have to stand up all night on a Friday/Saturday - then fine. Personally, not my cup of tea. I like a quieter pub, where I can sit down and have a quiet, comfortable drink, so I will only go in there Mon-Weds when there are no trashy, live bands on. Lovely outside sitting area - great in the summer. If it wasnt for the ear-deafening live bands and been too packed out on Fri/Sat nights, I might go in there a bit more often

Dick Turpin, Wickford

This is a really lovely-looking pub situated right on the A127 London - Southend Arterial Road at Wickford, Essex. Thought we would give it a try, as it is really lovely-looking from the outside. BUT that is where it ends......... VERY tired-looking and drab inside. Good choice of food menu, but I had a mixed grill (which wasn't very nice). My fried egg was very runny and ran all over my chicken breast!! and my partner had rump steak which wasn't that nice. The desserts do look nice though. Had much better food in pubs bit nearer home and wouldn't rush back there. Shame, really as it does look nice from the outside

The Lattice House, Kings Lynn

Quite a nice, "traditional Wetherspoons" pub - exactly how a Wetherspoons should be. Nice and comfortable inside (although could do with more seats in the "tudor-framed" area near the bar" - back room lacks atmosphere a bit. Reasonable outside garden. Good range of usual Wetherspoons food and drink etc. More civilised and comfortable than the Lloyds No 1 (Globe Hotel) nearby.
