Ye Olde Mitre Inne, Barnet

This pub just keeps getting better. Great beers and a good welcome every time. The food is great as is the ever changing choice of beers. Be wary about buying a couple of double Jamesons though!!

This really is a most fabulous pub now. I hadn't been for a number of years, put off like most by the missguided attempts by previous landlords to attract the 'yoooth' market. Anyway, a new landlord name of Gary, he has done wonders in a short time. Excellent beers changed by the hour dont worry about daily or weekly! Its like going to a beer festival every time I visit. Great staff, great beer, a welcoming fire in the grate - what else could you want?

The Builders Arms, New Barnet

I am afraid to say that the last post by strongers was him witnessing all of the regulars leaving! This pub has gone downhill fast since the New Year. Make your own mind up of course.

Railway Bell, New Barnet

This pub is a wetherspoons so you should knowwhat to expect, almost out of date beer and cheap food. The pub attracts the young and those having just a couple of drinks. It is just a meeting place for most clientele.

The Lord Kitchener, Barnet

This is a terrible pub, it is often full with the local fascists and local workshy. Avoid at all costs.

I have been going to this pub for a number of years now, the first couple of years were very lonely, and it took that long for the so called regulars to even acknowledge my presence. Still well worth the wait for them to finally start talking to me after some five years!
A very eclectic mix of clientele attend this pub, there is an ever changing cast of so called regulars who all have a unique characteristic, most of those gathered at the bar in the saloon (known by the bar staff as the 'twiglet zone)appear to be self employed devotees of Margaret Thatcher. A bar fly of note is an odd character called Barritt (AKA Mr Alapecia) he can be seen most days glugging lager and just waiting to pick a fight with the wonderfull Sturdy. How I laugh.
The beer in this pub is particularly well kept and is served up by mainly wonderful eastern European bar staff, a smile is never far from their faces, of particular note is the gorgeous Aris, softly spoken and polite to everyone, she epitomises everything you could wish from a bar maid.
Take care when leaving this pub, do not turn left, all those that do seem to disappear in the area of the old gasworks into a kind of twilight zone, remember 'good night sweetheart'.
