All Bar One, Bath

I really disagree with last comment. When in Bath, I often visit this bar early afternoon. I have always found the staff exceptionally friendly and efficient. It's a great vantage point to look out on the prospect of Bath. They have a great range of interesting continental lagers, all served in their correct glasses, and, in my opinion, they are by no means over-priced in comparison to other bars.

V Shed, Bristol

This is the best Wetherspoons I've encountered. I visited on a sunny weekday afternoon, and sat out on the terrace by the waterside, with a nicely chilled and extremely reasonably priced glass of Chardonay. Staff were efficient and pleasant.

The Pitcher and Piano, Richmond

It seems strange last reviewer only reviews Pitcher and Piano pubs, and always favorably!

The Coeur de Lion, Bath

Visited Bath's smallest pub" on a day-trip last week. Nice friendly place, with good beer and nice seating on the pedestrian street side.

Subsequently, I discovered on the scoresonthedoors site, that this establishment has zero points for food hygiene. This must be an extremely worrying situation. I only had beer, and hygiene seemed fine in bar area.

I always make a point of checking places I visit with scoresonthedoors. It seems to me that if the inspectors give a kitchen a zero rating, it calls into question whether that kitchen should be allowed to continue operating pending remedial action.

The Old Green Tree, Bath

Visited Old Green Tree having read its praises in beer guides. It didn't dissapoint - great selection of real beers, and friendly landlord.

Having read previous review, didn't hear any "deviant" conversations! Only odd event - as I was going through the door I was accosted by a small extremely red-faced man, who appeared to be well lubricated; he grabbed me by the arm, and announced that I had just missed Trevor Mcdonald, but I might find him in a pizzeria! With that he was gone.

I'll certainly re-visit if Im in Bath again.
