The Jolly Farmers, Purley

Been back and starting to love this place for a drink (or few) on the way home via Purley. Went in on a Thursday and there was a quiz on, the place was again filled with a good atmosphere. Staff are very good, I am not a regular and they are learning my name and what I drink already, I like that in a pub!

Old Surrey Hounds, Caterham

The Surrey has recently been refurbished, I understand the need to draw people in but it has lost its old charecter and now has a typical chain pub feel. Unfortunetly they ahve also upped their prices and there are no offers on anymore, a double vodka is now 4 squids. Still best of the local's in caterham depsite this.

The Jolly Farmers, Purley

Friend has moved to Purely so met him here on a Wednesday night for a couple. There was a band on at 9 that were very good. Went back Friday night for another band, who were also very good. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is very good. Didn't notice any chav's myself but then only been there twice. (So far!!) Going back though..

The Prince William Henry, Southwark

Been here a couple of times, not local to the area but work occasionaly requires us to visit an office near here. First time we went one Thursday night and the place was deserted, which we thought was odd so moved on. The next couple of times though were better although it never gets busy. They have a dart board and a quiz machine, which was enough to keep us entertained. Staff are generally good, particulalrly the young Colombian lass. Beer selection is not great but you can generally find some where to sit, unfortunately there is no real atmosphere although I have not been in here on a weekend.

The Duke of Sussex, Waterloo

I don't live or work too near this pub, but I am now a regular in here. I first went in by random chance one Saturday afternoon and was surprised at the atmosphere and crowd considering it's rather central location. The staff are excellent, the landlord does very well, has a good selection of beers and some ales although being a Vodka man this is not s deciding factor for me. It does get busy in here but it is never over powering like many of the younger, trendy bars in town it is not one for the younger set which is good for us more discerning types, this is my deciding factor.

Old Surrey Hounds, Caterham

I live in caterham, and have been a regular here for the last, many years. The atmosphere is usually very good although it can be very quiet in the early part of the week. It is very good for the sport type people, and is probably the best place I have been to see footbball games on a big screen. Has a couple of large plasma screens as well so you can see the games when it is packed from any where! Staff are generally good, and the landlord, Steve, runs the place very well and keeps the unruliness to a very low level.
