The Dew Drop Inn, Oxford

See my previous review just below? Scratch that, this pub has been brought back to life.

My girlfriend and I visited during an evening this week and found the Dew Drop to be an excellent establishment. The outdoor area at the front now has much more seating, plus there is a nice garden area at the back of the pub. The interior now looks much better than it did a couple of months ago, much brighter and cleaner with new furniture and decoration.

There was a wide range of drinks on offer, I made my way through three different pints of craft beer, all of which were excellent. They were a little more pricey than an average pint which was fine by me because they were considerably better than an average pint. If all you're seeking is a cheap drink, you know where to find a Wetherspoon pub.

We only fancied a snack so we shared three of the starters which were all delicious (the brisket cubes in particular were great). The staff were all friendly and we were served promptly each time, even when there was a bit of a queue.

This is now a great pub, we shall be back again very soon!

The Corner House, Headington

I was here recently to play Aunt Sally, local team were a friendly bunch with whom we had a good laugh over a couple pints. Welcoming and helpful bar staff, nice interior. One of my teammates was on the ale who seemed very happy with the quality and selection. The only issue if you're outside is the location of being on a busy road, you'll likely encounter a few speeding cars/loud exhausts/loud car stereos/motorists who crave attention. Other than that this was a nice place, would happily visit again.

The Dew Drop Inn, Oxford

Currently an absolutely terrible place. Glasses and plates are left on the sticky tables for long periods of time, the toilets don't appear to have been cleaned in months and it looks like the pub is currently run by a pack of moody 18-20somethings who really don't care. Avoid this place until is has been given a good clean and brought back to life.

The George and Dragon, Long Hanborough

Lovely pub! My girlfriend and I were driving through the Witney area this Saturday just gone and stopped in the George and Dragon. Staff were very friendly and the pub had a nice atmosphere. We ordered a few nibbles from the British tapas section of the menu and everything was excellent, and apparently they offer a half price deal on the tapas Monday-Wednesday so I'm sure we'll be back again soon!

The White Hart, Minster Lovell

Great atmosphere Saturday night just gone (25/04/2015), lovely bar staff, friendly locals, a decent pint and an excellent covers band playing, will most likely be back soon!

Crawley Inn, Witney

My band played at the Crawley inn a few weeks ago, taking part in an all-day fundraiser for Macmillan. Excellent friendly biker atmosphere and a decent stage area with an old motorbike sat in the background, will definitely be back for a pint again soon!

The Catherine Wheel, Arlington

I often call into the Catherine Wheel as Bibury is a perfect halfway stopping point on a regular journey of mine. Lovely friendly staff, well-kept beer and great food, excellent way to break up a long drive!

The Gardener's Arms, Oxford

I've been in The Gardener's Arms a few times, decent enough place but nothing special. The staff have always been friendly but the atmosphere amongst the clientele has seemed rather pompous, my girlfriend and I were given a couple of funny looks (Yes, funnily enough some of us rocker weirdos enjoy going to pubs too!). On our most recent visit, we shared a calzone and garlic flatbread which were ok, but were both dripping with oil. Probably wouldn't go back any time soon but hey, it's not the worst.

The Gardeners Arms, Oxford

Great little unspoilt pub with a warm atmosphere, run by a hard working couple. A lovely menu of home-cooked food (no chips in sight - makes a pleasant change!) and well - kept beer. No nonsense, nothing fancy, just a nice little pub :)

The Queens Head Inn, Broad Chalke

Stopped in Broad Chalke during a long drive and had a little lunch break at The Queen's Head, absolutely delightful pub. Excellent food, very friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere, will definitely return if I'm ever in the area again :)

The Squire Bassett, Kidlington

A few years ago this pub closed as The Squire Bassett and is now open as Gurkha Village. Delicious Nepalese food, very friendly staff, delightful atmosphere, good drinks and decent prices. Outstanding restaurant!

The Gloucester Arms, Oxford

Good beer, good pizza and friendly staff, but unfortunately absolutely no character compared to its days as The Gloucester Arms. The White Rabbit, much like Far From The Madding Crowd used to be, would appear to be a busy pub but having looked closer it appears to be full of people sat around a table having their discussions whilst slowly nursing their one drink for the evening. Decent enough pub but in my experience the current clientele offer a pretty bland atmosphere.

The Gardiner Arms, Tackley

Only managed to stop in a couple times on our way past last summer but the staff were very friendly and the beer was well-kept, will definitely be back again soon :)

The Red Lion, Kidlington

Nothing exceptional but significantly better than it used to be! Considering it's part of a chain the pizzas are pretty good, and the big chap who appears to be the landlord/manager is friendly and welcoming. You do get plenty of the ol' Kidlington regulars in but none of the trouble the pub had previously seen over the years (none that I have recently seen anyway).

The Kings Arms, Kidlington

Friendly staff, great home-cooked food and well-kept beer (usually four real ales on the go at any one time). Also has a decent-sized function room out the back available for hire. Lovely little pub!

The Sussex, Brighton

Stopped by The Sussex a couple times during a brief stay in Brighton late last year, good beer, good food and friendly staff, and an especially nice atmosphere when we came in dressed up for Halloween.

Pro tip - If you're in this pub and dressed up for Halloween, sit at the table facing the side entrance and you can scare loads of people walking down that alleyway!

The Sherborne Arms, Cheltenham

I've driven past the Sherborne Arms many times over the years but have only recently had the time to stop in for a swift pint on a Sunday evening. Warm fire, friendly locals and friendly bar staff, will definitely be stopping in more often :)
