The Talbot, Iwerne Minster

I am really sorry to say that this lovely pub lacks any atmosphere. It has so much potential, but terrible landlords. I hope they are not there on my next visit !

I have to agree that the initial appearance that the new tenants gave has not been maintained. Back to the dark ages again in here!

Hey, I simply could not believe the transformation of this pub/hotel. New landlord/landlady have listened to the customers and rejuvenated the place. Well worth its previous rating now, although needs to be consolidated over time. So many of the locals I met said that it was 'great to have the pub back again'.....refering to the previous mismanagement. Good luck and keep up the hard work.......

I am disappointed and amazed at the outgoing landlord. He has not made a success of the place and procedes to slander the locals to the new incoming tenants. Talk about having a chip on your shoulder!

I have been working in Blandford and even stayed in the Talbot. I feel sorry for the locals having to allow this ignoramus bleat on about the failings of the venture rather than admit it is due to his own incompetance!....

I will be glad to return to Chelmsford.

I cannot agree more. The landlord is due to leave in October. Cnat wait to see the back of the lazy fella. There will be a full public bar when the locals realise. No charm or warmth at all. Very arrogant and snooty.
Thank goodness it isnt my local.

Thought I would give the place a second chance. Went in Good Friday....What a waste of time. This is typical of places that lose the plot after winning a prize. Give it a wide berth for a while.

Having previously won a prize for good food they are obviously sitting on their laurels. Food was expensive and poor quality. Beer is not well kept. And the landlord is very arrogant and unimpressive. Perhaps it is because he is vertically challenged!
Children not welcome, in fact the night that I was there a young couple with a baby in arms were turned away. They can't need the business.
