The Devonshire Arms, Cambridge

Erm, it's open late. After other pubs have closed, this is open (it's on a corner, with few residential neighbours, so it's late license application was uncontested). So lot's of people pile in here where everywhere else has been forced to close. That's pretty much it's claim to fame.

The Live and Let Live, Cambridge

A pub for real ale fans (that'll be me then)! Quiet (in a good way), excellent range of well kept beers (better quality than the Cambridge Blue, in the same league as The Kingston - but more expensive). Food is good(ish), but the atmosphere is wonderful, like a comfy pair of slippers. If you want to sup some excellent ales in a convivial atmosphere, it's either here or the Kingston!

The Empress, Cambridge

Enterprising landlord, with 2 pubs. The Empress is big, rowdy, and rollicking good fun. Comedy nights, quizzes, and more. Don't expect craft type beers, or many CAMRA types, but for a fun night out, this should be considered.

The Kingston Arms, Cambridge

Previous reviewer, you do realise Jaipur is SUPPOSED to have a creamy head, don't you? It's on their tasting notes! As for creamy head AND being flat, at the same time... can't be both. Anyway, now that that nonsense is out of the way, the Kingston is the usual excellent oasis it's always been. In a sea of pubs with either poorly kept beers, mediocre food, or chavs, this stands out. It has an excellently kept cellar, very good food, oh, and it's the cheapest in the area. The beers are cheaper than other's (see for yourselves!), and they have a 'privilege club' where they regularly have beers around 2!! I could go on, but briefly, cheap, well kept beers, huge range, excellent food, and excellent vibe. And unrelated to my review, but for the girls, Mike and Mark are nice eye candy, and the landlord looks like a Chippendale!
