The Drummond, Guildford

£4.30 a pint. I''m not surprised pubs are closing down. Disappointed. Cut it to £3.50 for an ale and I may return.

The Drummond, Guildford

What is this pub trying to be? An expensive Gastro pub charging ridiculous amounts of money for good and drink. This isn't London. It is on a horrible busy road in the worse part of Guildford. The only plus point is the nicely sized beer garden. Not many real ales to choose from and at nearly £4.50 a pint it isn't good value. Bland atmosphere.

The Bed Bar, Woking

Staff are arrogant and full of themself... this is kinda the pits if ya ask me.. beer is no good and the place smells bad must be the cleaning products they use.. up itself and tacky. No good beer on just lager.

Remix Bar, Woking

Hmmmm.. very strange place.. feels cheap and plastic like. appears to be a club late at night downstairs with the bar upstairs. Cheap and rundown the place just does not feel cared for and there is no proper beer on. No good.

The White House, Guildford

Have 2 agree this has really gone downhill.

Bankes Arms Hotel and Country Inn, Studland

Situated in a wonderful area it would be foolish to avoid going to this establishment even if it is only for the good amount of local real ales served here. Indeed beer festivals appear to take place here in August but this would not really explain the popularity and amount of people who wish to spend their time here. Prepare for loud calls of food orders in the garden area. Sitting inside would not be a bad alternative on a bad day weather wise. It's hard to knock it and deserves the full 10/10.

The Old Granary, Wareham

Is it a pub or is it a restaurant - this does seem to be the question. Despite being called a pub sort of name this place is indeed a restaurant since we payed for our meal after being given the food. Service was a bit rampant but fairly reasonable and watch out for the bloke wanting to do a questionaire. The food is excessively expensive, especially given the size of some of the portions. Vegetarian choices are very disappointing while on the beer side of things there was a couple of real ales. A solid place to go situated by the river and nobody shall surely complain about location here.

Stephan Langton Inn, Abinger Common

An old pub in a lovely looking location by Friday Street. So quite glorious in that respect. Inside it feels more like a Tea Room than a pub with the wooden floors. Not an especially warm feeling in the Winter i'd imagine but just fine for summer.

Ordering drink was no problem and there was indeed 3 ales on tap which were Pilgrim, Pride and Surrey Hills.

The food was a big disappointment and I would not plan to eat here in future for main meals which come in small portions and really are very poor overall. Standards Standards!

The Cyder House Inn, Shackleford

Good edge of town pub situated in a rather bizarre garden area but do not be dismayed and the 'Cyder' is also very good here.

31 Jul 2009 13:06

The Squirrel at Hurtmore, Hurtmore

The squirrel at Hurtmore - now taking after your average gastro pub such as Albany and Farriers in Guildford. Worth a visit nontheless.

31 Jul 2009 13:06

Scrumptious, Guildford

No need for sexual innuendo Pilgrim just because you perhaps consider yourself to be a straight gentleman, the gay population is taking off and it is only right they should have their own gay bar.

31 Jul 2009 13:05

The Royal Oak, Guildford

Ohh it appears people do not like this place but in my view it is Guildfords best pub and you have possibly visited at the wrong time of the day ive found if you visit in evenings the service is friendly and there is one very nice barmaid who is happy to pull the drinks.

This pub offers lots in the way of entertainment and often a friendly atmosphere in a town where there are more and more faceless bars so give the oak a go ad dont be disappointed. If i had one disappointment it would be the lack of ales being on - HSB is not the best but the Pride makes up for it.

The Fighting Cocks, Kingston Upon Thames

Run Down Music Pub!

24 Jul 2009 11:35

The Sovereigns, Woking

Top Banana

Loch Lomond Ales

Summer Breeze

And many more....overall a fine venue for eating or drinking people get bit overboard on pub quiz

All Bar One, Guildford

Is there any ale there yet? I'll take that as a no. Getting ale in bars like this is nearly impossible. This makes it a pointless experience in many ways. For would I want to be hanging around lots of smelly youngsters while im sober? So the choice is go here and be sober or go here and become a lager lout hmmmm. or not go! so tough to decide.

The Fighting Cocks, Kingston Upon Thames

Wow! looks like someone wasnt happy. Im a non smoker so cannot tell similiar stories, but what i can say is my own view of this place. Have visited on around 4 or 5 occasions. The drinks range is never anything to write home about. If you want a type of ale but not real ale there is John Smiths and Newcastle brown.Rooms are divided up so you have a quiet hidden away room, the main room a pool section.. they do really get in the way! and a music room. also some toilets which r in bad condition. the music room has krounenberg and j smith for beer. didnt see the others. soso place but alright for a gig. music can make it get very got inside however.

12 Nov 2008 19:48

The Waggon and Horses, Surbiton

Good ale haunt and well worth a visit. Bit of a sophisticated place, quite surreyish but not londonish.

1 Nov 2008 18:07

Old Orleans, Guildford

Pub of the day, but I have no understanding why. No good beer and over priced only worth visiting if going 2 the cinema or a river walk.

O'Neills, Woking

1 Nov 2008 16:14

The Bed Bar, Woking

Well, the venue itself is clean, smart and everything. But a terrible choice of beer. No ale at all.

1 Nov 2008 16:13

The Keep, Guildford

Worth popping in for a pint of Surrey Hills alone.

26 Oct 2008 12:11

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

A place I certainly enjoy to visit when I can. So many delightful ales to choose from and the food is good value too. Even if its crowded the chances are you shall find yourself a seat if you look hard enough. Well done Lloyd's.

26 Oct 2008 12:09

Flares, Guildford

This is not a place on my ideal pub crawl. Cheesey 70's title, cheesey overall atmosphere and even more importantly no Real Ale. Do yourself a favour and walk down the road to Wetherspoons.

26 Oct 2008 12:08

The Keystone, Guildford

Nice little venue but not obvious to the naked eye. Certainly you would not realise there was a pub here if you were not from the area. So once you've found this neat place you can enjoy the fine atmosphere and settle down to an ale such as a Black Sheep Bitter or Wadworth 6X. There is sometimes a guest ale too. You can even sit outside when its a nice evening.

26 Oct 2008 12:05

The George Abbot, Guildford

Visited recently. A traditional pub located by the river. A nice location, despite it being right next to a big car park. You shall find yourself plenty of beers to choose from. Hogs Back TEA being an obvious choice being in Surrey. Personally i'd recommend the Abbot Ale or the Greene King IPA. Also a good pub for food and sports.
