The Lord Palmerston, Dartmouth Park

Good to be back in this place again. Much brightened up. Had a great pint of Sambrooks & a fish cake for lunch.

Both simply delicious. nice to see the basics done right.

The Lion and Unicorn, Kentish Town

What a pleasure to find this pub after so many years. 5 pumps, one with a draught/cask cider.

Nice people, though you need to have patience to sit in any beer garden these days.

Chirpy service, prices are what they are, but the beer is in good nick.

Compared to the local competition, a gem. But this is (aspirational) Kentish town.

Hoo hoo! Rattled a few cages there.

Like I said "calm down". It's not a bad place, but obviously it's taken a bit too seriously by serious people.

Its a nice "pub", but it is just "pub" light.

I hold by my view that the beer has frequently lost its bottle, for want of a better pun.

I will continue to drink there while my legs hold up. I will just make sure I taste, as they so kindly offer, before I buy. I can then leave the stuff thats past its best, to you boys & girls who enjoy it so much!

Peace & love, Baz

Calm down.

It's alright, but really just a pastiche of an old fashioned boozer.

Beer is frequently flat. You can't keep that many beers on & keep them all in good nick when you are as small as this place. (Bree Louise, take note)

Worthy & full of passionate drinkers. Shame they are dazzled by a load of pump clips above quality of beer. Nice touch with the pork baps. Not great, but at 3 & a half nicker they should be better, dry pork & bread. Hmmm Gastro!

Keep going though boys. You may just get it right.

The Crown, Cricklewood

Why oh why? Is it that hard to serve a decent pint of bloody Guinness.

I emailed their head office ages ago looking for an answer. Do you know what? I'm still waiting.

If Ryanair ran pubs, they would all be like the Crown.

RIP

The St Johns Tavern, Archway

Dear oh dear. Not been in for a while. What is it about the pubs around here that they can't be consistent for more than a couple of months.

Loud, crowded & nigh on impossible to get a pint if your not in the know.

The Bull and Last, Gospel Oak

Looks great, but lord save us from pretty boys & girls waxing lyrical about scotch eggs.

Serve me a pint will you?

My. This place seems to have come back to form. Been laid up for a while so it's nice to get out & have a pint again.

Get a few more bar stools though. My legs can't take all that propping myself up.

We used to call it customer care, back in the day

It's great that pubs like this still exist. Get in before we lose this one too.

This site can be very useful, but comments like the last one add nothing, but definitely takes away with it's negativism.

At least tell us why you think it's rubbish. I'd still rather drink here, than take on some of the other local establishments, & believe me I've tried them all!

The Junction Tavern, Kentish Town

"Pretentious. Qui Moi". Lovely pub, great selection of real beer & continental stuff, but come off it.

Let me get served quickly, in a COLD glass & I'm happy. If you insist on keeping me waiting for a beer, at least put a couple of bar stools around, so I can loiter in comfort.

But I can't knock too much. What can I do, walk down to the Bull & Gate or up to the Boston? That's some sandwich filling if they are the bread slices!

Have I been in a different pub???

Charming staff. Bloody great selection of Ale. Likewise lager for the yuppies. A decent lunch, though top of the price range for a roast & a nice environment (well done on the bogs chaps).

Some people seem to want to live in the 1950's. But the fact is that pub's are closing down at a spectacular rate. If you get one that's even halfway decent, then cherish it, have a pint of Sharp's & see if maybe there is something more important in your life that needs to be dealt with.

One major criticism, get that poncy TV sorted out.
