This is a difficult one. I've been here twice and have enjoyed myself both times. The place is inoffensive, has a decent selection of drinks and is comfortable enough.
However for somewhere that obviously labels itself as a gastro pub, I think it falls short, not much on the menu, and what there is just isn't great. I mean it isn't terrible it's just average, considering the prices it's disapointing.

I like the pub, good beer, show the sport and a decent atmosphere, it's not the most exciting but it's fine if you want a quiet drink. My one complaint would be that I did once have something to eat, it was disgusting but at least it was cheap enough to not mind too much!

This place has actually worked hard to be as un-atmospheric as possible. Can't comment on the food but the decor is to be desired, the beer is grudginly ok I suppose.

The Bulls Head, Chiswick
I think it's a nice pub with sometimes a good mix of ales, sometimes not. I go here fairly often in the summer when it's nice to watch the river. I have to agree about the staff though, variable quality at best, the barman looked as if i'd shot his mum when I asked for a pint the other week.
