The Inn on the Green, Hanwell

Inn on the Green is now open. Fiona and Trevor are working to pick the place up after a run of bad management and doing a great job. Karaoke on Sunday nights which is always popular, plus other occasional music or themed events. Definitely somewhere to start returning to.

Lavins, Hanwell

This pub is rapidly becoming a very popular venue in Hanwell. Since Ryans got taken over and Duke of York has changed management, Pat has turned this place round. No trouble in this venue. Tuesday quiz night, Thursday karaoke, Friday disco and karaoke, Saturday music or performer, and Sunday is usually a themed night with a performer or group on stage. Shows all major sporting events. Smoking room at the rear. Yes, it has local people but that's because they like it. Friendly atmosphere.

The Albert Arms, Norbiton

This place is all front and no atmosphere. It is very pretty, a huge pub with well maintained interior. Good seating and the toilets are decent. Unfortunately that is where the facade ends. Over priced drinks, moody and unhelpful staff, and the clientele are snooty and unfriendly. Music over the PA was dead weird as well. Will not be going back.

West Five, South Ealing

Another refurb - still tacky but gloriously so. Only really busy at weekends but great for a laugh at any time. Piano bar still fab.

Ryans, Hanwell

Lovely place, known locally as The Library now. Regular Sunday night jam sessions, quiz nights and more. Friendly staff, good drinks - not the cheeapest but is anywhere these days? Becoming a regular haunt for me and my mates as opposed to other places in the area.

The Fox and Goose, Ealing

I live 2 mins walk from this place but rarely drink there - only because I go where my mates go not for a negative reason. It is attractive from the front, has a lovely beer garden, and some good ales. Went there for the first time in years with family for a meal this weekend. There were 3 menu choices so was very limited but guess that kept it simple in the kitchen. For a Sunday, really not busy which was surprising. There was a private function elsewhere in the building so bar was busy. Two family members had the Honeydew beer and said it was excellent. Food was very good for basic pub grub - well cooked, good portions and served very quickly. Veggies did not look as if they had been boiled to death and roasties were crisp and tasty. We would go back!

The Royal Victoria, Hanwell

This place has just reopened under its old name, The Royal Victoria. Have not checked it out yet but apparently got some of the usual locals back. The toilets are now inside I am told and it looks OK. Will let you know when I get a chance to try it out.

Case is Altered, Old Redding

Had planned to book a lunch time office do here, but when I called to enquire I was advised they had only taken over the pub in June (so according to the posts there have been at least 2 in a year). They were not taking lunch bookings as they were too busy and it made people complain about waiting times. They are shutting for a month in Sept to build a proper restaurant. Will probably still go but will report back on food and service.

The Viaduct, Hanwell

A great place. Recent refurb looks great. Have not tried food but music is easy on the ears with good range of beer. Good atmosphere.

The Green Man, Eversholt

A lovely pub with great food. Busy at weekends. Recent management change and redec has taken away some of the "villagey" feel but still a nice quiet venue with occasional music.
