The Livery, St Pauls

1.7 out of ten is a bit low. I give it 6. Not the place to go for a quiet pint, but seems like a good place to go if you are on a bender. Its the sort of venue I'd expect to see someone like Andy Carroll sitting at the bar downing shots and drinking Stella until he falls of his bar stool. It is quite an entertaining place. Beer is good if you like standard lager. Nothing on the Ale front except for Bass, but I do not class that as Ale.

Corney and Barrow, City of London

Why does this have 8 out of 10? If I was looking for a beer in the evening this is the last place I would go. No beer on tap, and a selection of expensive bottles of standard lager. Also, no real ale!

It should get 8 out of 10 if the website was called "Wine in the evening with work". What is this website coming to? Could it be only 1 person has rated this bar and they happen to work there?

I will rate it zero just to adjust the 8 out of 10 rating downwards. I suggest everyone else does the same. Lets see where we are in a year. 3/2/11

The Six Bells, Brentford

Nice pint of Honeydue.

Shame that whenever I'm in there is normally one or two lines not in action.
Bring back the Fullers IPA too! Staff are very friendly and food is good value.

Live music nights are good. Saw a Led Zeppelin tribute band in hear this year and they were amazing.

The Beehive, Brentford

I was in here once and a guy took offense to me being Scottish. After a lot of shouting and demeaning comments he told me to get back to my own country and never come back. i tried to discuss this with him, but he was making no sense. I then found out that he was originally from Hungary, but considers himself English as he has spent his adult life in England. Something must have happened to this guy in the past as he was very extreme in his views and had a lot of anger towards Hungary and Scotland for some reason. He was very drunk which was part of the problem too.

Anyway, I left before it got physical and I've not been back since.

I had a bottle of becks, which was decent.

The New Inn, Brentford

Busy bar when there is a Celtic game on. Outdoor TV is useful for the smokers or when it is too busy inside. Nice pint of guiness and reasonable prices. Staff are friendly. 7

The Oxford Arms, Camden

I went here during the week for a few pints before a gig at the Jazz Cafe.

Staff seemed friendly and beers were fine. The table could have done with a clean, but apart from that seemed to be a good bar. The location is perfect, close to tube and large windows gives the bar lots of light (this was in the summer). I'd give this a 6/10, worth stopping buy for a couple of pints if you happen to be in the area, but nothing special that I would go out of my way to pay a visit.

The Bell and Crown, Chiswick

I was in here on a Tuesday night and was served the worst meal in my memory. It may have been a one off (as i was told the main chef was not working that night), however I was offended by the manager for telling me how I should order my food, and telling our group that what we ordered was fine.

The fact is the shared starters were terrible. The bread was stale, and we were served a cold meat that looked like dog food (which included a bit of plastic).

The Chilli was apparently horrible, the muscles were grainy, and my burger was cremated (twice) and fell apart into meatballs as soon as I bit into it. I was in here on a Saturday a few weeks ago and the burger was perfect so assume we had a decent chef that night.

No apologies were given to me and I was actually made to feel like I had done something wrong because I complained. There was nothing taken off the bill.

The Honeydew was good, but still I will no longer be using this pub in the future based on a meltdown in the kitchen and lack of respect from the manager on 29th June 2010.

The Magpie and Crown, Brentford

This was a great local, and I have no clue where I will go for a drink now. I might have to start drinking wine and go to the Weir.
