Came in here 2 weeks ago after a function close by.

It was a Monday night and football was on the television (Aston Villa vs Arsenal), the place was pretty empty while The Loop across the road was much busier.

I wasn’t drinking so I didn’t sample the choice of ales that were on…3 in total…though my J20’s were excellent!

I have used this pub at various times over the last 18 years and have never had a bad pint here.

Worth a visit as it’s a traditional pub and not a gastro type like many area these days.

A lovely little pub if you're looking for a traditional standard boozer. It would be a gem if they filled the place with some extra character (including a dart board in the cellar).

Very nice food decently priced and freindly bar staff. If like me needed a pint to take you away from the stresses of shopping with the mrs on oxford st defo worth a look.

Small rather anonymoous pub a (short) block south of Oxford St.

The smallish room is dominated by a spiral staircase that leads to both the upstairs and downstairs bars. The presence of the staircase means that quite a lot of the limited seating in the ground floor bar is quite cramped. The upstairs bar which seems mostly used for eating is airy and fairly pleasant - the downstairs one is quite but basically a cave.

The gents - I don't normally comment on the toilets but.. - are reasonable but appear to be located under Dering St.

Actually the most notable thing about the pub is the splendid traditional haberdashers' - MacCulloch and Wallis - across the road. Open since 1902 the facade is probably still the same.

No compelling reason to visit this pub but if you're on Oxford St and desperate it serves a purpose.

This is one of the better pubs withing spitting distance of Oxford Street; and, let's face it, there aren't many such pubs. Fuller's Pride, Bombadier, and Brains Bitter on draught. Pride was very quaffable.
Waitress service too: Stand outside on a summer's afternoon enjoying the view and a barmaid will bring you a beer.
What more could you ask for?
