Was expecting rather more from this place. Yes, they do serve bass from a jug. Yes it does taste nice. However, when I was there it was the only real ale available. Otherwise just a basic boozer for lager swillers with sport on big screen TV.

Visited the Station Inn yesterday after close of play at the Derbyshire v Warwickshire cricket match. There are two handpumps but the Draught Bass is only available FROM THE JUG. There were large signs pointing this out which I didn't notice.

Finally managed to gain access and found the landlord a decent character and his pint of Bass as good as any I've drunk over the years. My visit was well worth the wait, and I'll try to have another top pint when next in the area.

Quite simply the best pint of Bass I have ever had the pleasure of drinking. The Landlord is also an excellent character with a well rehearsed set of stories and jokes to entertain both new and regular custom. A great little gem.

I've been to the station a few times recently after work, or on a Friday afternoon.
I found the beer of very good quality. I drank the Deuchars IPA, very nice, my mates drank the Bass, which they spoke highly of. Staff were helpful.
