visited this pub on Friday 28 Feb. It has recently been very nicely refurbished and specialises in reasonably priced carvery lunches, though they do have other food for those not wanting a roast dinner. More importantly, they had four cask ales - Black Sheep, which was excellent, Theakstons, Robinsons Unicorn, and an Adnams beer. This pub is owned by a family who owns several pubs in the area, including the Fletchers in Denton, but the Spread Eagle scores over the Fletchers for its variety of ales (the Fletchers only has Robinsons beers) and for the variety of food. A nice place to visit.

How many TVs ? I counted 6. Despite this I enjoyed my pint of Hobgoblin and my food (served all day it says on the door) and the service with a smile.

Great pub, real ales and food served every day. I noticed recently that the pub now has a cask marque plaque outside and jamie and emma always make us feel welcome
