Yeah exactly, gonutz, these are comments written by the pub. The RS is awful on a normal pub scale, no way is it a 7 or 8 out of ten, maybe 2 or 3 if you were generous and liked your pubs full of unfriendly louts.

To be honest with you Gonutz don't think martin would know how to write his own reviews on here, so I don't think you've drunk in the Standard for a while mate! I agree about the Greene King comment but at least he hasn't sat on his arse and let the place go to rack n ruin... he obviously loves the place as much as the regulars do and I think you'll find it is THE REGULARS writing the recent comments, it's a shame you turned your back on the place but lets face facts you can't like all of the people all of the time and I guess you get along just fine with the landlord wherever you're drinking now.

Oh pleeese "DRINKY" isn't it a bit obvious when a pub writes its own reviews !!
Wake up - if Greene King thought the pub was worth investing in it would just like it invests on its other pubs locally

Do you know what... I can't stop brewing about Gonuts comments, now I know I haven't been a 'regular' for long but from what I can gather from the friends I've made in this pub, it had really gone down hill and a lot of them went elsewhere until Martin came along and sorted the place out. Yes it's in great need of a re-furb but this is how great a community pub it is... regulars got together and re-painted the whole of the front exterior for FREE... now come on.... does that sound like the Landlords crap cos to me he must be pretty good at his job to get folks to give up their free time to do a job Greene King should have done years ago... !!

Ooops ... was so incensed by Gonutz comments got my words a bit jumbled there... meant "a bad word against Martin" Folks this really is a great pub... down there tonight... Psychic Night + Fish N Chip night and it was packed.... All age groups, Families there til around 8ish, 20's 30's 40's 50+'s, really great atmosphere, check out their page on Facebook if you don't believe me... 105 fans already and it's only been up and running for around 6-8wks, really funny lot.. currently have a kidnapped Panda Toy being held for ransom for charity !!
