Worth the walk from the town centre. Had a special selectrion of Trapist bottles. has Half Moon Bruges Zot on tap. We were welcomed and served an excellent lunch. Fire roaring in the old stove in the middle of the room

You don't come here for the choice of beer (although it is adequate), but for the history. Well worth the short walk out of town to appreciate a genuinely old bar, with an old stove providing warmth, and old paintings and photos around the walls.

Nice old bar, one large room with old photos and memorabilia.
Staff were pleasant enough, but the bar seemed very noisy for the number of people that were in it. Draft beers very dissapointing. Only 3 beers Juliper, Leffe Brune & Brugse Zot. Bottles beers were a little better but not much.

Sadly no jukebox. But not surprising given its 500 years old but a wonderful place in Autumn to watch the leaves fall by the window. I concur that Hommel is the beer to try.

First of all, this cafe is open day hours.
I have never heard of a cafe that shuts down at 8 pm.

Anyway, we went there during the day time then because we really wanted to see the place.
The bar itself is nice, nothing special but the service.

I have never seen such a rude and arrogant bar maid in my life!!
It was a blond woman, I think maybe even the owner and she even became agressive in her way of talking when we asked a few practical questions about beer!
She even told me to go to classes and that her bar is not a school!!!

So Brugge has enough places to have a beer and the Diligence near the market square is quite old as well and look more authentic than Vlissinghe.
A big plus about the place is that you don't get your head bitten off either.
