Picturesque pub set in the square in Gotham. Everards ales, but a couple of guests as well; White Horse Village Idiot, a nice golden beer along with a Local Shardlow beer. Only stopped for one, so can't comment on food or some of the other posts.. Initial reaction was this seemed a nice pub, with bar to one side and lounge/restaurant to the other. Symonds Founders Reserve cider always a good sign... Take a minute to read the history of Gotham in the little covered 'bandstand' building near the church.

The current licensees have transformed this pub. The ale is always excellent and the atmosphere warm and welcoming as a village pub should be. The pub is clean and very well organised and has a delightful garden that is designed showing themes from the village of Gotham. The classic Everards ales are always top notch, as are the guest ales. The food is probably the best for miles around. What a gem of a pub this has become over the last year or so. They deserve the various awards and recognition they have won. One of the finest and most friendly village local pubs you will come across. A couple of beer festivals have been held this year too, and some occasional live music.

This pub has a relatively new landlord and landlady who are trying to improve the whole aspect of this pub. Up to 7 quality real ales and 2 real ciders are served, some by gravity in the week. We sampled the food in the week and found a true home cooked food establishment and the Sunday lunches are gaining quite a reputation in the area. Will definitely return

Sadly the last reviewer was right to be concerned that this pub was in safe hands, because it is not. The new landlord and his wife have not carried on the fine tradition that was the Sun Inn. The quality of the beer has nose-dived, the food is tasteless and boil in the bag, service is slow. The pub is an empty shell of what it once was. Sad indeed.
