A 2 for 1 pub, since it reopened about 2007. It's not good, it used to be well known for it's food. Now it is just average and, the meals are small.

What a palarva just to write a comment!
Our family chose to meet at this pub, one part being from Essex and the other from Stoke. We telephone ahead to see if they had room. When we got there a table had been laid out for all twelve of us (Lots of them children) and Christmas crackers provided. The food and service was absolutely EXCELLENT. We weren't hurried or hassled. The prices were VERY VERY reasonable (You should try eating down south before you complain about prices!) The friendly staff and warm and cosy atmosphere was lovely and we exchanged our Christmas presents which the children played with and generally made a mess. We had been to the Snodome as a treat for all the grandchildren and this place just topped it off. Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon.

This pub has recently been refurbished, a 3 month process. Although there were a few minor flaws in the service offered during the first few months of re-opening, the food has always been of excellent quality. The staff are very friendly, and although there is no bar area, you can still enjoy a drink in the beer garden on those sunny days, and inside when there arent as many customers.

The minor flaws I spoke about were just little things you expect with a new pub/restaurant, i.e. waitresses not knowing how to use the tills properly.

Overall, I am very pleased with the outstanding degree of service and quality of produce this pub has to offer, and I think it is definately a must visit pub, set on a hill overseeing a beautiful landscape.

Now operated by Marstons Inns and Taverns the Wolferstan Arms (aka The Knob) has been refurbished and whilst the food service area has been extended, the bar has been removed and there is now no area in which you can just enjoy a drink, at the time of writing this the pub is still advertising for a chef and other catering staff and therefor I have not yet sampled the new Wolfrestan Arms

I have been a regular visitor to this pub over the years. The food used to be excellent and good value, but the the quality has steadily declined. Recently I sampled their curry club menu, this tuned out to be something that resembled a packet curry from Asda, a miniscule portion withnot much taste. Tonight my family and I paid theis pub another visit and found that the prices had been hiked up, 9.85 for a ploughmans no less. So we went down the road The Queens Head at Newton Regis and had a very good meal for much less than we would have paid at the wolferstan.
