Always seems very empty here, maybe it is a little tucked away compared to other pubs. The garden area is small, but there is plenty of room inside. The 6X was pretty decent, the other beer on offer was the Surrey Hills Shere Drop.

Small pub opposite the castle. The exterior still looks like a typical pub. But the interior feels more like a lounge bar, with sofas, various artifacts to admire and a small outdoor courtyard. I was the only customer in on my Monday evening visit. Although Monday is often very quiet for pubs. An eclectic music selection was playing. I walked in to some sort of German war song! Tribute & Hobgoblin were the ales and to my delight, they stocked a real cider - Addlestones. In fact, it was the only one of 8 Guildford establishments to stock one. So a 6/10 for me. But not quite as good as the Royal Oak.

A real discovery. Delightful interior and decor. That rare thing a modern looking pub with personality!

A welcoming little pub that is clearly a civilsed place for civilised people. Lovely.

To respond to some of the comments listed below, we are sorry that NoDisgrace found the Pub dirty, we have strict cleaning policies which we hope all our staff adhere to & we have taken steps to hopefully ensure that it is never dirty & the "shabby Chic" eclectic feel is the comfortable, relaxed atmosphere we aim for & a question of taste. But we have been here 4 years and have always made a seasonal change to our menu & changed to our Winter Warmer Menu at the beginning of November, we always keep our customers favourites on but make several changes to each menu each year. We look forward to reviews & encourage our customers to review us on this site
