user reviews of Old Hall/Caramba, Keresley

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

No matter what they do to this place its never going to suceed, which is a real shame because I've heard that once it was a real good spot. Back in the days of disco you could get a bit of snatch in here and it had a kind of night club.

Nowadays its a failing restaurant type place, beer is atrocious, real ale quality is bad, bad, bad. You get the odd drongo's hanging around and alot of Keresley youth seem to hang about the gardens, so you might get your car scratched.

Very poor food, and the only real ale served was crap. This is one pub I will not use again.

I visited the old Hall on Mothers Day for a a set menu. I was in a party of 13, 5 of which were children. WE were supposed to be sitted at 330pm and were not shown too our table until 410pm, amist consfusion. When we got to the table there were no highchairs as requested we eventually had to fetch highchairs ourselves as nobody seemed to have the time to get us them. One of them then fell apart with my nephew in it. We reported this and did not even get an apology, we waited another 10 minutes for another highchair and again had to go and search ourselves. T o add to all of this two of the children were crying as we still had not been served our food, even though it had all been ordered a week prior. We eventually decided at 430pm to leave the restaurant as our food still had not arrived. When we approached the manager all he could say was, 'well what can i do other than say sorry', he did not even try and keep our business.

They were charging 16.95 per head for the set meal, i get better service from my local takeaway. We were not the only party to complain i am sure, as many other groups with children had not eaten an hour later. We were all very disappointed and i would not reccommend this restaurant to anybody, real lack of organisation.

This pub is basically a fusion of Old English Charm while upstairs offers some Hot Latino Spirit.
The Old hall is a great family pub offering great facilities to children. Caramba is a great experience all round it's colourful warm surroundings adds to the great atmosphere you love to be part of. Caramba offers Cocktails & Shooters with a great 3 course set menu. There is live music from the in-house sax player & Salsa the night away with a little help from the in-house dancers. Prices for a night in Caramba start at 19.95/p great for staff parties & friendly get togethers.
