| Walked a couple of miles to this place on the recommendation of the welcome pack in the place we were staying, only to find it's really a poncy restaurant, not a pub and a big sign on the door saying no dogs allowed. As there were 5 of us, but I wasn't especially hungry, I offered to walk back with the dogs and let the other 4 eat. | I've seen a few changes to this place over the years and its now definitely a restaurant. The bar is really only for residents of the hotel part or for diners enjoying a pre-meal drink. Go in with six mates for a session and I'm sure that the response will be polite but firm. A bit of a shame as the beer is superb and comes from a micro brewery just down the road (Bays). Given that the emphasis is on dining you would expect high quality for both food and service and you wouldn't be dissappointed.
