user reviews of the Florist, Fratton

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Have visited twice now and the pub was busy and plenty of atmosphere. Ale was Irvings but sorry to say it was the worst kept I have experienced in town. If the new owner can sort this out I would be a regular user.

Word is that the pub will re-open in October under experienced management. Lets hope it works out.

A great pub indeed, one of those hidden gems you stuble across by accident and are glad you did. The Wadworth beers are very well kept and the Henrys IPA is a superb session beer. The landlord is a friendly chap, and the general ambience of the pub is nice and relaxing. Worth a visit.

A friendly local with two bars. The public bar, with a dart board, is unspoilt whilst the lounge bar has been tastefully refurbished.

On Saturday nights (I was there 15/11/03) the pub doesn't fill up till about 9. The landlord is very friendly and knowledgeable, and was very considerate letting me bring my bike inside!

Two Wadworth beers are stocked, Henry's IPA and 6X, both of which were in good condition.

A good basic no-nonsense boozer worth a visit in its own right or as part of a crawl.
