Not far from the A2, this pub in a residential street was a far cry from the nearby Robin Hood & Little John. I think my transaction with the barmaid (possibly the landlady) was made without her uttering a single word. The pub was fairly quiet, with only one other small group in. If the welcome I received was anything to go by, it doesn't surprise me how quiet it was. 3 ales on were Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter, Well's Bombardier & Butcombe Bitter. A disappointing end to my Bexleyheath visit.

Great pint of Guinness, they pour it correctly!

Have been visiting the Polly for a few years now, when the old landlord was still alive and now with the new landlady, Wendy. She's kept the character of the place, put on some new beers and added nice touches, like very tasty nuts and snacks. She's just recently started doing food, and it's a pretty standard pub fayre menu, but I had the sausage & mash and my boyfriend had a chicken and leek pie. They were very tasty, and just what we needed, with a nice beer and glass of Shiraz. Good atmosphere - friendly and welcoming.

I new refurb has not done this pub any harm. Friendly staff, but not all were efficient, one bar maid seem very inexperienced for want of a much better word. Nice beer garden, children welcome, but not that welcome if you know what I mean. This pub is slightly off the beaten track, which at first would seem a negative, but this is a positive, in the fact that the lager louts hanging around the broadway can't be bother to walk that far. This pub is definately worth a visit, ideally on a summer's evening or lazy sunday afternoon.

Seemed pretty decent to me. Youngs, Pride and Harveys Sussex Best. Locals type pub with a good sized garden.
