Sadly this pub has closed down and is being refurbished as a family home.

Used to be great for a late lock-in

We visited this pub on Sunday lunchtime. It's under new management *again*. The beer is Hall and Wooodhouse and the Badger was in good condition. No sandwiches were on offer, just full meals (mains 8-9), though soup at 3.50 was fine. The pub is huge and there were not many people there. The side bar ("games" bar") was empty so we used that. Eventually I got bar staff's attention and managed to get the constant piped musak turned down. Might we worth revisiting when new people have settled in.

Went there a year ago and found the manager very rude and snobby. Implied that we weren't good enough for his overpriced menu because we only wanted a sandwich at lunchtime.

Happy to say it's recently changed hands, the new landlady seems very nice and they've changed the menu to provide more "pub" food (I'm sick of all the gastro and Thai pubs in the area).

Quietly hopeful...
