The only pub on along 10 mile walk from Newbridge to Radcot along a quiet stretch of the Thames and not a bad one. Wine glasses upon tables indicate a food-oriented place but the ale selection was good and a pint of Wayland's Smithy from White Horse went down well. Just by dint of NOT being a Greene King pub, that pestilence of this part of the country, receives high marks.

Stopped here after a very long, hot walk. had been looking forward to the visit, however brief, since I'd read such good things. Unfortunately, the barmaid was rather surly and curt, which came as quite a surprise particularly as it was mid-afternoon and the place was a sea of empty tables. Perhaps we woke her from her nap. At any rate, however nice a pub, however good the pour, the counter help soured me on the visit. My wife and I still talk about the bitch behind the bar.

A fine pub. I'm surprised it's so lowly rated, which doesn’t reflect previous reviews. Go there and sit in the garden on a summer day and you’ll be pleased. Boats on the Isis; Red Kite in the sky above; and a variety of folks quietly enjoying themselves: walkers, families, couples and dogs. Certainly the emphasis is more a gastro pub (and hotel) inside, but they cater for customers who only want a drink and a little food. I’d recommend their own Trout Inn Best Bitter. The staff are nearly all very pleasant.

Stopped here over Easter weekend for a couple of pints before trudging up to Bampton - 3 ales on with Brakespear (my choice) being very well served - enjoy.

About 2.80 for a very decent pint. Various guests including Ramsbury and Oxfordshire Ales. Looks like a gastro but excellent for a good beer by the river during summer
