Huge boozer in Balham refreshingly not kitted out with junk, distressed furniture and board games. No pan-fried pheasant here kids. However service was indifferent and slow despite the pub being empty. Balham prices too. terenced - 26 May 2015 08:46 |
Very large, interesting pub, with a nice feel to it. The clientelle was varied which also adds to a nice atmosphere. There was a few ales on, including a local London beer, which was ok, but served way too cold. dyyony - 2 Feb 2015 09:55 |

Went in for the first time for a long time on Friday and was pleasantly surprised. The Yellow Hammer was well kept though sadly me and my compatriots drunk them out of it and had to switch to the equally fine Doombar. The service was pretty quick for a Friday night and the bar staff were chatty and friendly. Overall a fine experience. theoneandonlyjoe - 4 Mar 2013 14:09 |
My experience was a lot more positive than my predecessors - I was there for the comedy, so I was only in the pub to get drinks, but the bar staff were good, the range of drinks was decent, (the Yellow Hammer was good) and although there was a group of lads in hats loudly playing a drinking game (21) there weren't any obvious scumbags.
